This photo was taken while i was out witnessing with Gavin and Gemma.
We stopped by a little park and walked up the gorge, it was so tropical that i thought for a moment i was in North Queensland.
Taken as a long exposure on a tripod, i was quite happy with the result.
Well its been awhile since I last posted… what can I say? I guess we’ve just been having to much fun. To tell you the full story we had some smashing times with the Brothers and Sisters in Acapulco congregation. Both out in the service and also the association at other times. On our last saturday night there they organised a Latino dance party for us… to try and teach us some dance steps. It was so much fun and we all had a blast.
Monte Alban means White Mountain, Why? because the mountain is covered with a small tree (shrub?) that when in bloom with it’s white flower turns the entire mountain side white in its glory. Continue reading ‘Unearthing Monte Alban’
This morning I had previously arranged to work Brother Emmanual in the english Oaxaca congregation. The territory is quite large and especially for the english speaking congregation, so that often means alot of traveling time is involved to get from one end of the territory to the other. We had fun witnessing in a nice part of Oaxaca with clean cemento roads and tidier looking homes. We were covering the territory looking for people who were not previously at home and who spoke english. We didn’t find anyone except a man who’s girl friend spoke english (she wasn’t at home), so we left the latest Awake & Watchtower magazines. Continue reading ‘Touring Oaxaca City’
After a big day yesterday we slept in till 9ish. Ashley wanted a pastry breakfast so we went to Carmen’s Cafecito for breaky, this suits me just fine since they do a killer “tortas de creme de cacahuate” in english it is a peanut butter sandwich with sliced banana on top. Continue reading ‘Meeting Taj Burrows’
Today we were invited by Brother Filemon and his family to go on a congregation day out to some water falls past a town called San Pedro (Saint Peter) The water falls are called “Chorro” meaning in spanish “to gush out”. We left at 8am because it is quite a long drive to the falls. The road was cemento all the way to San Pedro but from Pedro to Toro Falls was some of the roughest dustiest roads that I’ve yet travelled in Mexico. It took about and hour and a half to get there. Continue reading ‘Chorro Water Falls’
Hi all and thank you for patiently following the Mexico travels, i hope you all are enjoying reading about it. We realize that words can only describe so much, so with out any more words getting in the way of seeing what we’ve been up to head over to the image gallery for some digital eye candy.
Oh by the way if your wondering where the other photo’s got to of our journey so far… well there was a slight technical hitch and I some how managed to delete that entire gallery of photos… oops. I’ll try and restore them at a later time.
Enjoy the latest photo of both San Agustinillo and of Puerto Angel, you may remember the article “Tacos de Iguana” described in words the details of that day trip with Eduardo and his family. And here are those photos… enjoy!

Well if you haven’t already heard the news, the new Jack Johnson album is out… yeah i’m little behind in the news myself.
I’ve been listening to it for the last two days and i have to say it’s really a fantastic CD, i would even go as far as to say that this ablum is better than his first and second, a big call? Nah i’ve enjoyed the journey that Jacks music has taken don’t get me wrong it’s still cruisy and its still got a classic raw feel to it… just makes you wanna jump in the surf with your board and stay out till the sun goes down.
A must have CD, especially if your into other musicians like Ben Harper, Donavon Frankenreiter , G Love and the Special Sauce or even the likes of local Australian artists John Butler, Xavier Rudd.
I give this a 9 out of 10 rating, and i can guarantee I’ll be listening to this album for years to come. My favorite songs are Better Together, Never Know, Good People, Sitting Waiting Wishing, Breakdown, Constellations.
Hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
We took a trip away this weekend for a wedding in Murwillumbah, and stayed in South Ballina for two nights. The photo’s are of the beach near the caravan park we stayed in. I’m still getting used to my Nikon D70, but i’m super happy with the results so far. View Photo’s.
Michael & Sasha were married 26th of February 2005. The ceremony was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Murwillumbah at 2:00pm. The reception followed at 6:00pm at the Murwillumbah Golf Club. It was a beautiful wedding, Michael & Sasha looked great together and really happy, so the best wishes to them for the many wonderful years ahead.
I was down in sydney on the weekend attending a convention. So i thought it would be a good opportunity to test out my new Nikon D70. The camera is fantastic and i’m thoroughly enjoying the learning curve and the professional results i get when using this camera compared to anything else i’ve used. So if you in the market for a digital SLR camera be sure to check out the Nikon D70. Here are the shots that made the cut, more to come later when i take them!
Lastnight was spent cruising the Port Macquarie river, it was a beautiful calm summers evening just perfect for taking sunset pictures of the marina area. View more photos
About 60-70 people gathered onboard the Port Venture for an engagement party. The music was loud and everyone on the dance floor was hyped, for those that couldn’t cope with the noise stayed on the lower deck and talked.
On the return journey back to port ten dolphins surfed the bow of the ship, they truly are a graceful creature. I think they get as much enjoyment from entertaining us as we do watching them play.
I have just come home from seeing the Billabong-Jack McCoy Surf Film Festival for 2005. as per usual Jack sure knows how to shoot good surf footage. This year’s main feature surf rider was Taj Burrow. It goes with out saying that this guy absolutely boosts. The film also includes riders like, Kelly Slater, Andy Irons, Rob Machado and even Ben Stiller! Continue reading ‘Jack McCoy - Surf Film Festival’

I went to a missy higgins concert lastnight, i’d say by far it was the best live concert by any artist i have every seen at the Port Macquarie Panthers League Club.
She totally rocked it up… the music was way better live…
She played her piano with so much energy it was a delight to watch… she plays the guitar too, but i was just happy to hear her playing the piano. She totally rocked it up… the music was way better live than on her CD, i came away with a better sense of appreciation for her songs than before. I even discovered that i like some of her other songs… funny how that happens at a concert. She gave the Port Macquarie crowd a great encore as well, coming back on stage to do three more of her well known favorites. You should’ve have been there…
In march of this year (2004) i took a holiday with my family to the south coast region of australia. I was so impressed with the quality of the surfing it was simply amazing… and yet i don’t think i got it on it’s best day! Continue reading ‘Gerringong - March 2004′
