We have to be up early for our flight to
They are themselves, in the middle of extensive house renovations so we have bunked in at Joel’s parents place, but despite this have gone out of their way to make us welcome. Joel’s parents are in
Our flight to
Three things cement the fact that we’re in
Secondly, in our hire car a sign on the dash says “Accident report form in the glove box. Don’t fill in until you’ve had an accident?”
Thirdly, everyone knows not to ask an Irishman for directions but we were getting a bit desperate when we couldn’t find Malcolm and June’s house. So against our better judgement we stop to enquire of an elderly farmer. ‘Shure, I know em. Yur go down tere & take tree rights. Trite, trite, trite” Sounds simple enough. However, turn around and take a left would have saved a quarter of a tank of fuel!
I love your Irish, some more would be really good, as we both had a laugh. Need more of that, it makes for a great read. Lee and I have enjoyed following your journey and do appreciate the effort that it takes for you to post it for us. Thanks guys and hope you continue to stay safe and enjoy your journey. Hey Guys,
Love the story. I actually found myself reading it with an Irish accent!! Hehehe!
Sounds like a wonderful adventure, except maybe for the price of fuel? Is it dearer than oz?
Love to you all,
Jack, Kell, O xxxxxx
Yes much dearer than Oz. The price of fuel in England was approximately $2.30 to $2.40 a litre! Yes, very expensive. In Ireland it was $1.70 a litre! You will notice from the pics we have hired small cars that were fairly fuel efficient and I guess the distances aren’t as great as Oz but we still did a 1,000 miles in the UK.
