Wednesdays are another one of our cruisy days here in puerto. We got up at 8am or so we were going to get up earlier but that didn’t happen. It’s the best time of the day for sleeping because it’s the coolest part of the day before the heat and humidity sets in. The surf was fun and the clean (well i though so till Ashley said he saw a Puerto Cigar floating in the water) Clean as in the waves weren’t choppy.
… it’s the coolest part of the day before the heat and humidity sets in …
I spent the rest of the day reading and relaxing. Oh… we did take a trip into town (Playa Principal side of town) to do a bit of washing, this heat is murder on your clothes. Right besides the lavanderia is a “helados” (Ice Cream) shop. They sell all sorts of ice creams but the best things are their “Fruta” ice blocks, I had three of them, one Coconut, one Sundiaz (Water Melon) and a Chocolate de Creme. Hmmm they are so good on hot days in Puerto… wait a second everyday is a hot day in Puerto.
Travel Tip: The Ice Blocks come in all sorts of fruit flavors eg Pina is Pinapple, Limon, Papaya, Water Melon, Coconut, Manzana is apple and many more and all for AU$0.50 each.
Wednesday noches (nights) are book study nights, so we have to be ready by 6pm. It’s only about 1 kilometre from where we are staying (Papaya Surf) – a short walk in anyone’s book. But in this heat you end up drenched if you walk and your clothes don’t last one wear. So I choose a AU$2 taxi ride and pass up the opportunity to look like a wet fish.
… hurried inside to bring out three chairs for us all …
After the group Hermanos (Don’t pronounce the H in Spanish) Jorge invited us to go with him on a study. It was really nice to have had the privilege to sit in on the study. I think it was the mans first study because we did the first three paragraphs of the first chapter in the Require brochure. He seemed really happy to have all three of us there (Justino, Ashley, Jorge) and hurried inside to bring out three chairs for us all to sit on. We sat outside in his front yard and thats were the study was conducted.
Afterward Hermanos Jorge invited us out to dinner to a hermanas hamburger restaurante. I had eaten late in the afternoon so i wasn’t overly hungry… but those burgers were so good. Hmmm I don’t know what they put on them but it was not trouble eating two of them. (The sauce is the part that makes your mouth water.)
A hot night again… Ash and I stayed up talking till late, not a bad idea anyhow to let the heat of the night pass a little before trying to siesta. On that note “Buenos Noches”
Are these hamburgers beef, vegetarian, chicken, do they have the works, or are they fairly simple, is the sauce hot and spicy? Do enjoy and hope to hear many more lovely experiences,Sis Judy especially asked me to send her love and met Shalom who also sends love to all. They had the best time in fiji with brothers for 9 weeks on construction. Many fine experiences to tell too.
Thanks for passing on the love… Mucho love back to please.
The hamburgers are the full enchilada, they have everything except egg… i fact i might suggest that they do.
Hi guys – lovely to hear your reports, although I am a little concerned about the ice blocks – is the local water OK? It all sounds just wonderful and even better to hear about your meetings with our brothers. Adios amigos – via con dios, Barry & Fran
