Brother Edwardo took the group this morning (Friday), this brother speaks good English “he learn it from a book” (Quote – Faulty Towers) no not really. He used to work in bars on the Baja and learn’t his English by speaking to the American tourists. He does extremely well for someone who just picked it up.
Our territory was around the beach front side of Puerto Escondido a bit further along from where we are staying at Papaya Surf. There is supposed to be Americans living in that neck of the woods… but we didn’t come across any.
… officially my new Spanish name is Justino …
It’s kind of become official, my new Spanish name is Justino (yep it’s way more difficult to spell now). Pronounced Hus – tine – O, i don’t mind it at all because it’s still in keeping with the latin origins of the name “justice”. In fact the Spanish word for justice is “justicia”. Another benefit is that it beats trying to get a Mexican to pronounce J’s, they just can’t seem to do it… just like i can’t roll my RRR’s very well.
Edwardo kindly invited us back to his work place for lunch/dinner. He works at a hotel (El Jardin Real – The Real Garden) and is the head chef/manager, he mainly looks after the quality control side of things. Anyway the food was bueno and I had to have a cheese burger because I was forgetting the last time I had meat.
… American retired ex pats who live here …
Getting some nice photos, it’s a very photogenic place, sunsets in particular… I snapped some beauties tonight. After eating at Edwardo’s we took a stroll down the road to a little cove down past the hotel, there are some big houses down this part of town. I think it’s mainly the American retired ex-pats who live here and it’s probably the English part of the territory we’ll cover when the CO comes on 23rd-24th de Abril.
Thats good night from Me (Justin) and it’s good night from Him (Justino). Adios
