Lion De Puerto

With the music still pumping loud and clear (as per last post) i strolled up the beach to the surf break. The surf was good, a little bit smaller perhaps than yesterday but still good.

Back in the door AT 8:30am, Asha stirs from his slumber, not surfing due to his head. Today is Domingo (sunday) and the meeting is at 10am.

We were ready for the meeting by 9am, I was “starving like Marvin” (an in joke, remind me to tell you one day) and was keen to find a decent breakfast, Mexicans don´t seem to be big on breaky. ¿por Que? I ordered hot cakes… hombre they were so good, especially after surfing.

After hailing a taxi, we headed across town to a little back street and there was the Kingdom Hall… beautiful. Such a sense of calm on arrival, home for the next month or more. We were greeted by smiling faces, all the brothers there spoke Spanish except one brother who spoke English very well. The meeting was entirely in Spanish as expected, I didn’t get much from the public talk however the watchtower was better cause it was easier to see/hear the words being said. We know all the meeting times now and the field service arrangements too.

… was a full grown male lion inside! …

Our clothes were in need of a decent wash so we headed to the “Lavanderia”, that took about an hour including drying… er no ironing as such. Oh the wierdest thing pasted by while we were in the lavanderia.. a ute passed with a big cage on the back and there was a full grown male lion inside! Imagine if that thing (cosa) got loose. I just wish i had my camera at the ready.. Doh!

We cruised the rest of the afternoon in… then headed out for dinner at 7:30pm, we had spotted a little pizza joint on our wlk back from the lavanderia… again it confirms what i like about mexico, 3 beers and 2 pizzas for $60 pesos (AU$7).

    Hi Guys,
Wonderful to hear your about your time in the field and at the meetings. Lions in Mexico??? Who would have thought it? So you are going to mainly contact English speaking people?? (From Ashley’s post). Thinking of you, lots of love Dad and Mum.
